About NWDC

Journey so far

Who We Are

The North West Development Commission (NWDC) is a strategic intervention agency established by the Federal Government of Nigeria to drive sustainable development, stability, and economic prosperity across the North West geopolitical zone.

Established under the North West Development Commission (Establishment) Act, 2024, and signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Commission serves as the primary vehicle for addressing the region's unique developmental challenges. We are dedicated to reconstructing infrastructure, tackling poverty, and unlocking the vast human and natural potentials of our seven member states: Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara.

Our Mission

To facilitate the rapid socio-economic recovery of the North West through strategic infrastructure reconstruction, poverty eradication, and social rehabilitation, turning the region's challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth.

Our Vision

To create a secure, economically vibrant, and sustainable North West region that thrives on peace, agricultural innovation, and human capital development.
